Black Men Hair Styles – What the Celebrities are Wearing

The BET awards this year had stars primping and glamorizing to get the perfect look for their big day. Most of the men who were there didn’t have much fuss to do with their hair. The current trend in black men’s hairstyles is short – and there are a variety of ways to wear it that way! Following are some celebrity looks seen around the studios, the gym, TV and on the Red Carpet.

Terrence Howard, Actor
Terrence’s hair suits him just fine with it’s sophisticated and easy short look. This is one of the most popular ways for men to wear their hair.

Lenny Kravitz, Musician
Lenny went from long to short. Now, he has short dreadlocks. It is an easily maintainable hairstyle and looks very hip on him. More and more men are wearing their hair this way.

Shemar Moore – Actor
Shemar has what I like to call “barely-there-hair”. It is wash and go for this busy star of CBS’s “Criminal Minds”. The lack of styling doesn’t show. His look is very classy.

Michael Jordan, Basketball Player
The clean shaven head is an up and coming trend amongst black men. Bald can be very beautiful and this sports star proves it. Could any style be easier to wash?

Jermaine Dupri, Rap Artist
Another talented male with a shiny dome. What used to be brave is now becoming the norm in Hollywood.

Flo Rida, Rap Star
Flo Rida keeps his hair cut short and wears more on the top than on the sides. His hairstyle suits him nicely.

Kanye West, Rap Artist
This talented man’s hair is short and classic. His well-groomed mustache and beard add a dimension to his look that keeps him looking fresh and sexy.

Lil Wayne, Rap Artist
Sporting long dread locks. I thought these dread locks went out with the afro… When he pulls it all back in a low pony, his attractive face is revealed. He’d look nice with a shorter style, too.

The trend toward short hair has done nothing to lessen the unique styles available for black men.

Mustache and full beard winnersFull Beard is popular again, which is great fun. I mean, to have full beard must be one of the most manly thing around? Although it requires some work to manage it, with the right equipment you can do it very easily and smoothly.

Who fits in a full beard style? Well, those with large faces and soft jaw line are the ones we all think about. Most important thing of all is that you should take care of it because untrimmed beard is probably the worst there is. You can use a beard trimmer to take care of it in a smooth manner. It does not cost much but does the job so much easier

Tips on Keeping Your Beard Trimmer in the Best Possible Condition

A beard trimmer is a handy grooming tool for those with facial hair to have in their possession.  These items come in many different styles and with various price tags attached to them.  No matter how much you paid for your trimmer or how long you have had it for, keeping the grooming equipment in the best possible condition is a wise move to make.  The following will provide some helpful hints in this department which will aid you in keeping your beard trimming equipment in the best shape possible.

The first thing you should do in order to keep your beard trimmer in good condition is to store it away in a safe place when not in use.  Simply leaving it out on the counter all the time or throwing it carelessly in a drawer after every use will bang it up quite a bit and make it show wear and tear.  It can also be accidentally knocked to the floor and damaged. Try to get a storage case for your trimmer, if one did not come with the product, and keep it in a location which is away from careless hands.  Storing the trimmer safely away will keep dust off of it and prevent it from getting banged around.

Another way to keep the trimming equipment used to groom your beard in the best condition is to dry it off after every use, if it is a wet use trimmer or simply one which has gotten water on it.  Keeping the equipment dry will prevent it from rusting and showing wear.  Make sure to get in between all of the crevices of the trimmer as water has a way of finding its place in these spots.  A trimmer which remains wet after use without having been dried off may present you with problems in the future such as malfunctioning during use or premature wearing of the blades.

You should also clean your beard trimming equipment after every use.  Depending on the type of trimmer that you use, all you usually need to do is clear the item of excess hair.  Certain trimmers will include exact cleaning instructions with the product which tell you how to clean the item and when to do so.  Some you will find are self cleaning trimmers and others will require using a specific brush. Follow the instructions as best as possible so that your beard trimming equipment will stand the test of time.

Lastly, prior to storing your beard trimming equipment away after use you should remove any extra parts which do not usually remain permanently attached to the product.  This too will help to prevent hair from becoming lodged within the trimmer and preventing the proper use thereof in the future.  The parts can usually be removed during the cleaning portion of the beard trimmer use and you can simply store them away in the storage case alongside the trimmer where they will not get banged around.
